Check Your Notification History on Android 11

Does your phone run on the latest Android version 11? If your answer is yes, you can easily get access to all your previous notifications after turning the “Notification History” option on, even after you’ve erased all. Once you turn this feature on, you can check every notification that showed up on your device in the last 24 hours.

It also includes the system notifications that sometimes show up and disappear on their own after a fixed interval.

But before you enjoy such privilege, you need to learn how to turn on the “Notification History” feature on your Android phone. Here’s how you can turn it on:

  1. Swipe down from the top of your screen on the Android phone and tap on the little “Gear icon” to open the “Settings” apps.
  2. Tap on the “Apps & Notifications” option.
  3. Tap on the “Notifications” option.
  4. You now need to tap on the “Notification History” option.
  5. In the next menu, toggle on the switch of “Use notification history” by tapping on it. Now, your mobile will keep track of all the notifications for the next 24 hours. You can check them at any given time by coming to the “Notification History” option.

Please note: The notification history will be blank at first after you turn the feature on. However, once the notifications start flooding in, it will keep a log of all the notifications for the next 24 hours. You can check the details of the notifications and their content. Moreover, you may reach the app that sent the notification by tapping on it as if it’s a normal notification.

Restore Notifications on Android 10 via Notification Log Shortcut

Does your smartphone run on Android version 10? In that case, you need to access the “Notification Log” feature to restore and view the notification that you have already erased. This feature was first introduced in Android 4.3, and you can still access it on Android phones with Android 10 Lollipop. The Notification Log feature allows you to check the erased notification via a secretive widget. However, only phones that have the Developer Options unlocked can do so.

Thus, before you try to access the Notification Log feature, you need to activate the Developer Options in your Android phone. Here’s what to do:

  1. Go to “Main Menu” and tap on the “Settings” app.
  2. Next, scroll down and tap on the “About Phone” option.
  3. After that, tap on the “Build number” option multiple times. Generally, after tapping on it 5 to 7 times, you will get a notification confirming that the “Developer Option” feature has been enabled.

Enabling Notification Log

Now, you have the Developer Options enabled on your phone. Now, it’s time to activate the Notification Log feature. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. First, tap and hold on the home screen’s empty space of your Android 10 phone and wait for the widgets to appear. Once the “Widgets” option appears, select it.
  2. Keep scrolling down on the “Widgets” menu until you find the “Settings” app shortcut on it.
Please note. In some Android 10 smartphones, you might need to swipe left instead of scrolling down to find the widget shortcut you’re looking for. In this case, we are looking for the shortcut of the “Settings” app.
  3. Next, long-tap on the “Settings” app widget and place it in an empty space of your choice on your phone’s home screen.
  4. Now, tap on the “Settings” menu shortcut, scroll down until you find the “Notification Log” option.
  5. After that, tap on “Notification Log.”
  6. Once you’re done, the “Notification Log” shortcut will appear on your phone’s home screen. Now, you just need to tap on it, and you will get access to your notification history. This way, you can restore missing notifications on your Android phone.

Restore and View Lost Notifications on ColorOS 11

Do you use an OPPO phone that also runs on the ColorOS 11, a version of Android? If that’s the case, you can also access the old and deleted notifications via the “Notification History” feature. You just need to turn the feature on to access all your lost notifications for the last 24 hours.

Here’s what you need to do to recover missing notifications on your OPPO phone using ColorOS 11:

  1. Open the Main Menu and tap on the “Settings” app.
  2. Next, scroll down until you find the “Notification & Status bar” option and tap on it.
  3. After that, tap on the “Manage notifications” option.
  4. Now, select the “More” option.
  5. Once you enter the new menu, tap on the “Notification History” option and toggle it on to enable the feature.

Now, you can use the “Notification History” to check any notification of the past 24 hours and restore the lost notifications on your OPPO smartphone.

Use Third-party Applications

Not a big fan of going through all the steps above? No problem. You can always use third-party applications to restore and check the deleted notifications on your Android phone. Here is a list of the top third-party apps that will help you check and interact with your deleted notifications on any Android phone, regardless of its unique UI:

  • FilterBox
  • Notification History Log
  • Notisave
  • Unnotification
  • Notification History
  • Nova Launcher

Please note: The list of third-party applications we have provided in the rundown above is for informational purposes only. We are neither affiliated with any nor do we receive any sort of incentive.

All you need to do is install a third-party notification viewer app of your choice, and give it notification and background permissions. Once you do it, it will start storing all the notifications you receive on your phone, including the deleted ones.

With these third-party applications, you can preview notifications, their details, and even the time you had deleted them from your phone. You can even customize the app to focus notifications from your apps of choice, including your WhatsApp message notifications.
