How to Restore Quarantined Files in Quick Heal

Restore Quarantined Files in Quick Heal

Quick Heal Technologies Ltd. is among the leading security solutions companies in the IT industry. Their reach is great since they offer products for both home users and enterprises. Moreover, they protect against a whole host of programs, including malware, ransomware, adware, and web-based attacks. As if that wasn’t enough, Quick Heal has been active for more than 2 and a half decades, which is what inspires confidence in customers. But even with their expertise, their software can still be wrong at times. And, to reverse that action, you need to know how to restore quarantined files in Quick Heal. So, let’s help you with that.

1. Restore files quarantined by Quick Heal

We’ll begin with a direct method first. Keep in mind that Quick Heal offers 3 similar security products, Total Security, Internet Security, and AntiVirus Pro. For that reason, the steps might be slightly different or options renamed. With that said, follow these instructions to recover files quarantined by Quick Heal:

  1. Depending on your software and its version, there are a few ways to access files in Quarantine:
    • Click on Tools in the top right corner. Under Cleaning & Restore Tools on the left-hand side, click on View Quarantine Files.
    • Click on Scan Options (the option is named Files & Folders on Quick Heal AntiVirus Pro version). Click on Quarantine & Backup, then the View Files button.
    • In the left sidebar (pane), click on Settings. Once it expands, click on View Quarantine.
  2. Click on the file to highlight it, then click on Restore. Confirm by clicking on Yes.
  3. The file will be back in its original location. Click on Close.

2. Recover quarantined files via data recovery software

Quick Heal never revealed where their quarantine folder is located. So, follow our guide on recovering a deleted folder in Windows 10 and specify the folder Quick Heal is installed in, as well as the C:\Users\ folder. You can also follow instructions in our “restore hidden files on pen drive” guide since the antivirus will most likely hide the quarantined files. The same applies to using Mac data recovery software. Finally, once you find quarantined files and recognize their file name, try renaming the copy of the recovered file by adding a file extension of the original file.
