Tips to Prevent COD Account Loss in the Future
When you are launching your game for the first time, you are provided with two options – to use a guest login, or to log in with your Facebook or Google Play account. If you are planning to play the game seriously, always log in with your Facebook or Google Play account. DO NOT use a guest login. In this way, even if you uninstall your app accidentally, or even if you change devices, you will retain your progress. You just need to log in with your account (Facebook or Google Play), and your entire progress will be brought back!
Recovering your COD Mobile Account
Method 1 – Try Installing COD Mobile Again
If you have previously linked your Facebook or Google Play accounts to COD Mobile, then this method is right for you. As you have linked your social media accounts with COD, your game progress is periodically updated with that account. So, even if you suddenly delete or uninstall your application, you can most probably bring back all your progress. The same applies to switching to a new device. So, if you are using your Guest Login, then this method is not right for you. You can move on to the other methods listed below.
Here is what you need to do –
- Initially, go to your mobile Settings.
- Move on to the My Apps section. Once in there, find and select COD Mobile.
- Scroll down, and you will see all your user data
- Clear all user data and cache data, and exit your mobile Settings.
- Now, uninstall COD Mobile.
- After this, go to the Play Store and install it again.
- When you are given the option to use your social media accounts, select Facebook Login or Google Play Login (whichever account you linked previously)
That’s it. Once COD successfully links your account, it will automatically download all your previous progress. If this method does not work for you, you can check out the next method mentioned below –
Method 2 – Submitting an Activision Account Recovery Request
As we mentioned before, you can create an Activision account to store your progress. When you lose your account suddenly, you will lose all your hard-earned journey. To cope up with all this, Activision provides a recovery process. You will have to request them to recover your account. In this way, you will get back all your original progress, stats, purchased and earned content very soon. However, this applies only to legit accounts. If your account was previously blocked, banned, or blacklisted, you cannot recover your account. Also, remember that this process may take up to 24 hours, and there is no 100% assurance that you will get your account back.
Before you start filling up a recovery request form, there are a few things you must note down. You need to keep these things ready before starting out anything –
A New Activision Account
You must create a new Activision account, and generate a new Activision ID before you start with the recovery process. This account is considered a temporary account. That is, when you submit the recovery form, Activision will analyze your form. If your form is valid, this new account will automatically be disabled and you will regain access to your original account. You can no longer access this new account. Also, if you have enabled cross-gameplay in this new account, all your new progress WILL NOT be transferred to your original account after recovery. However, if your request form is invalid, you won’t regain access to your original account, and you will use this new account hereafter.
An Accessible Email Address
With your new Activision account, you must also have an accessible email address. This may be your own email address (only if you still have access to it). If you don’t have your email with you anymore, deleted your email account, or forgot your login credentials, you can create a new email address for account recovery. Else, you can also use a friend’s email address. This is because all updates regarding your COD Mobile account recovery are communicated through the email address that you enter.
Step 1 – Creating a New Activision Account and Linking All Platform Accounts
As we mentioned already, you must create a new Activision account before you head on to the recovery process. This account must have a new username that is different from the previous one so that you can generate a new Activision ID. Make sure that you create this new account with an email address that you have access to. Just visit the Activision Sign Up page, and you can easily create a new account by following all the simple steps given there.
Once you have done creating a new Activision account, the next thing you need to do is to link all your Platform accounts to this new account. Here is how you can do it –
- Firstly, sign in to the platform account that you want to link with Activision (PlayStation, Nintendo, Xbox Live, Steam, or Battlenet.io)
- After this, sign in to your Activision Account. Make sure that you use the same browser to do this. You can open up a new tab if you want.
- Go to the Account Linking section, and select the account that you want to link. You can check this process at Managing Your Activision Account.
- Click on Continue.
- Once the linking process is successful, repeat the same steps for all the accounts that you want to link.
After you have linked all your platform accounts, return to the Activision Account Recovery Request form, and proceed with the next step.
Step 2 – Logging in to your Activision Account
Once you have completed all the steps mentioned above, head on to the Activision Account Recovery Request form. Scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click on Continue. Before this, make sure that you have logged in to your new Activision Account. Activision will verify whether you have completed all the other steps. This site will lead you to all the further steps.
