Zoom took over the online conference space following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. This is primarily because the invitees don’t need an account – only your Zoom account name, meeting ID, or click the link you provided. But what if you lose the first? Sure, you can always make a new free account for Zoom and get unlimited 1-on-1 conferences and up to 40 minutes for up to 100 participants. But if you paid for additional technical capabilities or features, it doesn’t make sense to let it go. Therefore, you must learn how to recover Zoom account, and we’re happy to help.
1. Recover Zoom account without password
This is the most common cause of a lost Zoom account. To remedy the situation, follow these steps to restore Zoom account with a forgotten password:
- Visit the Zoom Forgot your password? (zoom.us/forgot_password) page.
- Enter the e-mail address you registered Zoom with, solve the reCAPTCHA challenge, and click on Send.
- Open the Inbox folder of the e-mail account you just entered.
- Tip. If it didn’t arrive, check the Spam/Junk/Socials folders. Also, ensure [email protected] isn’t on the list of blocked contacts.
- Click the link in the e-mail Zoom sent you.
- Enter your new password twice and click on Save.
- Click on the Go to My Meetings button on the Reset Your Password page.
- You’ll see your Dashboard, meaning you successfully restored your Zoom account.
2. Restore SSO Zoom account or log in via social media
The following are guides for recovering Zoom accounts that were created in different ways:
SSO
SSO (Single Sign-On) Zoom accounts are made by the business or educational organizations and are usually managed by their IT departments. So, if you aren’t the head, you know who to reach out to. If you are, however, follow these instructions to retrieve SSO Zoom account:
- Visit the Sign in with SSO (zoom.us/web/sso/login) page in your browser.
- Enter your company domain, for example, “organization-name.zoom.us” and click on Continue.
- Alternative. Don’t know the URL? Do this instead:
- Click the I don’t know the company domain link below.
- Enter your company e-mail address, finish the reCAPTCHA challenge and click on Continue.
- Follow steps 3 through 6 above to reset the password or get further instructions.
- Zoom will scan for your organization’s digital certificate. If one isn’t available, you might have to generate a new one for yourself and others. Refer to the method below for more help.
Social media
You can create a Zoom account via Google or Facebook accounts. However, Zoom only links them and has no access to the data. 3. Contact Zoom Customer Support
Having trouble restoring access to your Zoom account? You can reach out to Zoom Customer Service in these ways:
- Webchat. Click the floating chat bubble icon on every Zoom page. Ask Bolt, their Virtual Assistant, a question. If it’s unable to answer, a human representative will join in.
- Phone call. Dial +1.888.799.9666 for the United States or a dedicated number for your country. Important. Available only to Business, Education, Enterprise, or API owner Zoom accounts and members with a Premier/Premier+ Zoom account.
- Submit a ticket. Visit their Submit a request page (support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/requests/new) and select Technical Support. Fill in the required information.
- Social media. Zoom is available on Twitter and Instagram (@Zoom) and Facebook (@zoomvideocommunications).
